The Governor and the Centennial

Greetings!

I am pleased to join with the Arizona State Library, Archives to publicize the outstanding centennial planning work that has been done over the last several years. Expanding the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission to coordinate statewide Centennial planning has my support and that of Legislative Leaders and state agency history and heritage institutions that comprise the Commission. I applaud the efforts of the Coordinating Committee for History in Arizona for recognizing the need for statewide participation in the planning of the Centennial and for working over the last two years to assure there was a collaborative approach to planning the Centennial.

Arizona’s Centennial provides a wonderful opportunity for Arizona to celebrate our treasured past and our rich and diverse history. I look forward to working with the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission and all the outstanding cultural and historical institutions across the state as we prepare for Arizona’s Centennial and celebrate all that has been accomplished as well as the bright future ahead.
